In a thrilling encounter which lasted for three long hours with all three sets going down to the wire on tie breaker, Swiss star Roger Federer thrashed Nick Kyrgios 7-6(11/9) ), 6-7 (9/11), 7-6 (7/5) to enter finals of Miami Open and ensure another epic clash with arch-rival Rafael Nadal on super Sunday.

In an exciting semi-final at Key Biscayne, Federer got past his Australian competitor with great ease and some classy range of shots which ensured whole entertainment for the crowd.

The high intensity of the match was avidly visible as a furious Kyrgios hammered his racket as soon as Federer got the game point to seal victory.

At first, Kyrgios broke in the first set to gain lead against Federer. The second was much dominated by service from both the players with neither player unable to break serve and ensured another tie-breaker in the match.

The third set was even more gripping, but it was the 35-year-old veteran who held his nerve and overcame the intensity of the high voltage encounter.

Kyrgios broke in the first set to go 4-3 up but Federer, with the loud crowd behind him, broke back to level at 5-5 when the Australian missed with an attempted big return.

In the recent time, Federer is in the twilight of his career while maintaining an aura of calm that has seen him through the tensest of matches.

While ensuring another epic title clash with his most famous rival, Both Federer and Nadal would like to edge past each other at the Miami Open’s Final on April 2. While FedEx would eye his third Miami title, the Spainard would like to clinch maiden title.

Earlier, Federer had beat Nadal in Australian Open final 2017 to claim an 18th Grand Slam title. In an another epic clash Federer swept past Nadal in straight sets in the fourth round at Indian Wells en route to the title there.
