The Indo-Czech pair of Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova lost the Miami Open final to the unseeded Canadian-Chinese pair of Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan.

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her partner Barbora Strycova lost the Miami Open womens double final on Monday to debutantes Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and Chinese Xu Yifan.

The third-seeded pair was unable to offer any resistance and lost to the unseeded newcomers in straight sets of 6-4 and 6-3.

The winning team displayed a fabulous game, while winning 70 percent of their first serve points in comparison to just 54 percent by Mirza and Strycova.

Earlier, the Indo-Czech pair of Sania and Barbora had staged a brilliant comeback in the semi-final clash of the tournament on Saturday to script a 6-7 6-1 10-4 against their fifth-seeded opponents.

Mirza and Strycova have been in five finals since they paired up in 2016, winning two of them.
