Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic, who recently defeated Roger Federer to win Wimbledon 2019, is not just a Yoga enthusiast but also a believer of Hinduism. Although it doesn’t matter what faith his choose to follow, but a viral picture of Djokovic playing with his son is making the rounds on social media. The picture he shared in August 2018 shows a portrait of Lord Krishna on the wall in the background and Twitterati were quick to notice the player’s love for Hindu religion, mostly followed in India and Nepal.

Not just that, Djokovic is a strict vegan and meditation is part of his daily routine. In an interview given to vice.com following his Wimbledon 2019 win, Djokovic credited yoga and meditation for his success in tennis.

"I do (meditation and yoga) out of a need to have an optimal state of mind and peace and calm, and at the same time happiness and joy. It was not an easy period for me in the last seven to eight months. The results were not there in the big tournaments. But more than results, it was that lack of balance on the court emotionally," he told VICE’s Jamie Millar.

Speaking about vegan diet, Djokovic said that it has helped him become not just a better tennis player but a healthier sportsperson as well. “I think that's (vegan diet) helped me not only to be a better tennis player throughout my career in the last seven years, but also a healthier person, an athlete that recovers faster,” he added.
