Indian tennis ace star Leander Paes and his German partner Andre Begemann have booked a place in the semi-finals of the men's doubles event of the Tashkent ATP Challenger tournamant.
The Indo-German pair overcame a spirited challenge from their opponents Oleksandr Nedovyesov of Kazakhstan and Ukraine's Denys Molchanov in the quarterfinals played on Wednesday.
Seeded third, Paes and Begemann were made to work hard by their opponents to register a 4-6 6-4 10-8 win in the super tie-breaker.
The Indo-German combination fought back from being 2-4 down in the super tie-break to wrap the match.
Paes and Begemann's semifinal opponents will be the local wild card holder pair of Sanjar Fayziev and Jurabeck Karimov. Fayziev and Karimov got a walkover from Mirza Basic of Bosnia and Slovakia's Blaz Kavcic in the quarterfinals.
