Ace tennis-star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik have recently welcomed their first bundle of joy, a baby boy, whom they named Izhaan Mirza Malik. Months after his arrival, the proud parents on Saturday introduced him to the world, sending the internet into aww-gasms. Sharing the very first picture of their adorable munchkin, Sania wrote, "Living life in the fast lane can be fun!!! It’s time to say hello to the world #Allhamdulillah".
Just like Sania, Shoaib too, took to his social media handles and shared the first full picture of Izhaan with a similar caption. With a heart-melting smile on his face, Izhaan is seen wearing a blue and white polo tee and a matching cap in the picture which we bet is the cutest thing you will find on the internet today.
Earlier, Sania had shared quite a few pictures with the two-months old but the face was, however, covered in all of them. After days of anticipation, this first glimpse of the tiny tot is truly a perfect Christmas gift for Shoaib-Sania fans!
Being asked about the delay in sharing Izhaan’s pictures on social media, Sania told Times of India that she was trying to protect the new born from 'buri nazar'.
Elaborating further, Sania said, "Maybe you’d call it a little old school or even silly, but I believe in bad nazar (evil eye). He’s going to have his share of attention growing up, Shoaib and I decided that we should protect him as much as we can, for as long as we can. We didn’t want to share or post pictures on social media, we felt he was too young to be out there. This does not mean I’m being critical of people who have posted or shared their children’s photographs on social media, to each his own".
In October, Shoaib announced the birth of Izhaan while thanking his fans and followers for the wishes and duas throughout the time.
"Thank you from the bottom of our heart to everyone for the wishes from Sania and I, and our families. Our son’s name is Izhaan #BabyMirzaMalik," the cricketer wrote.
Sania and Shaoib got hitched in a grand and intimate ceremony in 2010. The ceremony took place at a hotel in Mirza's hometown in Andhra Pradesh.
On the work front, Sania has been out of tennis action since 2017 and is eyeing for a comeback with Tokyo Olympics 2020, while Malik is currently juggling between multiple cricket tournaments in line.
