Wimbledon 2017

Great Britain's Johanna Konta defeated second seed Romanian Simona Halep in a gripping three set encounter to reach the semifinals of the ladies singles at All England Championships.

Johanna Konta became the first Birtish female tennis player to reach the last four at Wimbledon in 39 years. Virginia Wade was the last British tennis player to make it to the semis at All England way back in 1978.

Konta joins Venus Williams, Ryberikova and Muguruza in the semis at the Championships. Venus Williams became the oldest female player to reach the semis since Martina Navratilova in 1994. Williams beat French Open champions Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets.
