Dwayne ‘THE ROCK’ Johnson could finally make a comeback to the WWE ring as the sports entertainment company gears up for its landmark ‘SmackDown 1000’ show. The WWE has already teased The Rock’s comeback and the waiting period for the fans could finally come to an end next Tuesday.
The historic episode of WWE’s SmackDown has already confirmed the presence of host of star-studded names from the ‘Attitude Era’ and the excitement surrounding the return of The Great One is already sky high.
WWE took to Twitter with The Rock’s photograph, captioning it, “10 Days to Smackdown 1000” and “FINALLY...it's almost here! #SD1000 @TheRock”.
“I can’t wait to get back into a WWE ring. Everybody always asks me what’s it like being in a WWE ring and I always tell them, there’s a lot of celebrities and athletes too, I say there’s nothing like it. There’s nothing like [being] inside a WWE ring because there’s a certain live crowd acumen, there’s great connective tissue that’s second to none,” The Rock had said recently.
However, there is no official confirmation on the return of ‘The People’s Champ’ and neither of the WWE nor the Rock have said anything about it.
According to rumour mills, the Rock could miss out on the show due to his Hollywood projects and its schedule.
SmackDown made its debut in 1999 and was named after the 10-time World Champs’ most used phrase.
