Apple has relaunched its iPhone 4 model in the Indian market. The phone was all the rage back in 2010 but is now barely running iOS 7 on a single-core 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and lowly 8 GB of internal storage.

Earlier in the week, there were reports that the Apple would begin re-selling the 2012 model in India for 15,000 via buy-back and EMI (Easy Monthly Installments) schemes.

Instead of going for something reasonable Apple has priced the iPhone 4 at Rs 22,900, the equivalent of around $370.

It seems that the pricey iPhone 5s and uninspiring iPhone 5c aren't doing good for Apple in India where users aren't thrilled by the company removing the iPhone 5. The iPhone 4S looks a more reasonable smartphone at that price, even though it's over two-years old itself.

Apple has no plans to call it a relaunch. The iPhone 4 (8GB) has been available for months at several stores and online retailers.

The iPhone 4 has the Apple A4 chip inside, which simply cannot match up to today's models. It struggles to run even the latest version of its own operating system (iOS 7), and Apple has had to strip out many features just to get it to that point.
