With the upcoming release of Microsoft's upcoming Windows 10 OS, the company has decided to extend its testing procedures to other phones.

In a brand new initiative, Windows Operating Systems Group team will now add code to the next test build of Windows 10 Mobile.

This will help it function on more Windows Phones.

Its first preview of the operating system was first released in February, however, it supported only select Lumia devices.

But will the latest code addition, users will be able to run the preview on all Lumia-based phones.

According to Gabe Aul (Head of Microsoft's Windows Insider program), “The test build was limited because they had to select from the set of phones. However, now the partition stitching has been done. Thus, now you can unlock a much larger set of phones that could use Windows 10 technical preview.”

He added that the next test build will support all phones which don’t have China Mobile Operator support.

He hinted that the new build can become available in another week before being pushed out.

Windows 10 OS will be launched this summer; the PC version will include Project Spartan browser instead of the older Internet Explorer.

It is also expected to support biometric authentication.
