Samsung to launch Galaxy S5 on March 27 in India

Samsung to launch its latest Galaxy model, S5 by 27th March in Indian market. Though, while the phone will be revealed and pre-orders will commence, the official launch date still stays April 11. 

Samsung is also expected to kick-off pre-orders for the S5, along with some opening discounts, and operator and services tie-ups precise to India. The company is already bundling in a bunch of apps with the phone. 

Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED (1080 X 1920p) display and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM. The smartphone offers 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants, expandable up to 64GB through microSD card. 

The other big deal is that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is waterproof and dustproof to an IP67 rating, which means it's almost completely resistant to dust and waterproof to a depth of 1m for 30 minute. 

One of the key pillars of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the fitness technology that's contained within it. The device comes with a pedometer, diet and exercise records, and a new, built-in heart rate monitor (under the flash of the camera and requires you to hold your finger on it for a few seconds to get a reading of your pulse).

The smartphone has a 16MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera. The rear camera is capable of capturing 4K video at 30 frames per second. Samsung claimed the Galaxy S5 offers the world's fastest auto-focus speed up to 0.3 seconds.  It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the latest version of Google's mobile operating system. 

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, NFC and InfraRed. The phone supports a large number of 4G LTE frequency bands with LTE Category 4 standard.

The phone gets its juice from a 2800mAh battery with a claimed standby time of 390 hours and talk time of 21 hours. It is available in four different colours: charcoal black, shimmery white, electric blue and copper gold.
