Former US President Barack Obama with whopping 90mn followers features on the micro-blogging site Twitter's top ten list of most followed person. According to a study, Katy Perry tops the list of being most followed with Justin Bieber at the second position. It is notable that Obama has held a place of his own in a list which is ruled by leading singers, artists and sportsmen.
Katy Perry tops with 99,627,378 million followers, Justin Bieber backs the second spot with 96,168,860 and interestingly Obama secures the third position with above 90mn followers.
However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose government recently completed three years of power is in the top 50 most followed. It is said that since his election in May 2014, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has skyrocketed into top 100 space on this list of most followed leader on Twitter.
When it comes to eminent personalities from the world political sphere, Indian PM Modi is second to none as he is the third most followed world leader on micro-blogging site Twitter, according to Burson Marsteller’s Twiplomacy study 2017.
According to this study, Pope Francis tops the list of most followed world leaders on Twitter with US President Donald Trump at the second position.
