Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur has become the latest victim of Ransomware virus or WannaCry cyber attack. A sudden problem developed in the systems at the premises of the hospital.

The ransomware cyber attack caught hold of the systems and the functioning of the hospital was paralysed.

SMS Hospital superintendent Dr DS Meena immediately alerted the staff of IT department, asking them to resolve the problem. The problem was fixed later and the officials had to work till late evening as they installed anti-virus on the systems.

More than 50 computers were affected at the biggest hospital in the state. The details of patients discharged from the hospital were collected by the hospital administration and the information was uploaded after the problem was fixed. 

"Thankfully, the data of the hospital was intacted, that was not affected," Dr Meena said.
