Airtel has come up with new prepaid plan for the data hungry users at Rs 49 which offers 3GB 3G/4G data with one day validity. The new plan has been introduced to counter Reliance Jio’s Rs 52 plan.
However, Jio’s Rs 52 plan offers 1 GB high-speed data with a validity of 7 days plus unlimited calls and 50 SMS with access to Jio suite of apps.
Comparing both the plans, Airtel’s Rs 49 plan will not be a useful option for all users. It will appeal only to those users who watch complete IPL matches on their smartphone or surf videos extensively.
Additionally, Airtel’s plan will be only all-out data plan and will not provide free calling and messaging services to its users.
In order to avail the Rs 49 plan, Airtel prepaid users should open their My Airtel app and select from the data section. If the user is eligible, the pack will offer 3GB of data otherwise just 1GB of data.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio also has a Rs 49 plan which offers 1GB of high-speed data for 28 days along with unlimited calls and 50 messages plus access to Jio suite of apps.
Recently, Airtel also launched Rs 251 Cricket Pack for IPL matches in which the users get 102GB of high-speed data for 51 days with 2GB.
