India’s telecom giant Airtel has been constantly revising its plans in order to attract more subscribers. Recently, the telecom operator added more benefits with some of its popular prepaid recharges. The plans which has witnessed addition of benefits includes Rs 399, Rs 448 and Rs 499 plans and will now offer 400MB of more data.
Thus, the prepaid plan of Rs 399 which was earlier offering 1GB of high-speed data which now be providing 1.4GB for a validity period of 84 days along with 100 SMS per day.
Similarly, the Rs 448 plan which used to offer 1.5GB of 4G data for 82 days will now come with 1.9GB of high-speed internet. It will also be offering 100 SMS per day along with additional benefits including Airtel TV Premium, New 4G Device cashback, Norton Mobile Security for 1 year and subscription of Wynk Music.
Finally, the Rs 499 plan will now offer 2.4GB of high-speed internet for 82 days instead of 2GB. It also offers the same 100 SMS per day along with the same additional benefits as that of Rs 448 plan.
The Airtel TV subscription offers content from Zee5, HOOQ, 350+ Live TV Channels, and over 10,000+ movies.
Bharti Airtel recently also tweaked its post-paid plans, a move that involves gradual phasing out of offerings that are less than Rs 499 and retaining limited number of plans above it. The move is aimed at simplification of plans and would also help the company chase better realisation from mobile subscribers, improving the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), according to a source.
Essentially, it has scrapped the Rs 299 plan and is in the process of gradually phasing out Rs 349 and Rs 399 post-paid plans. Even the number of plans above Rs 499 will be reduced to just three - Rs 749, Rs 999 and Rs 1,599.
