New Delhi:
Technology giant Google on Monday launched its light UPI based mobile wallet and payments app ‘Google Tez’ in India for both Android and iOS users.
The new Google Tez app is available in 7 Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu and English.
Most of the functions of Google Tez app are similar to Paytm, BHIM or any other Indian UPI app but the refreshing design makes it a little different.
Tez (Hindi translation of fast) will allow users to pay for every purchase of goods and services in a secure way both online and offline.
How to Download the All New Google Tez app?
Go to the play store if you are an Android user or the App store if iOS user and search with the keyword ‘Google Tez app’. The new Tez app by Google Inc will appear, click on the install button and it will start downloading.
The Setup Process:
After the installation is completed, you begin the setup process by entering you registered mobile no. Make sure the mobile no. is linked with your bank account. After registering mobile no., select your google account. Now you will receive an OTP pin on your registered mobile number.

Password or Security:
After the mobile no. registration the next step is to secure your account with a password or fingerprint lock. You will be required to provide the password every time you login to the app.
Adding Bank Account:
Before you make any payment or transaction, you will need to add your bank account to the app. You can use the Google Tez app with all the major banks of India that supports UPI. To Add your bank account, click on the “ADD BANK ACCOUNT” option at top right of the app.
After clicking on the button, you will be asked to select your bank (eg. Axis, HDFC, ICICI). The app will then send a confirmation SMS to your number. After the confirmation, you will be allowed to set the UPI PIN. If you want to add more than one account you can also do that by repeating the same procedure.
Transferring the Money:
Transferring the money through Google Tez app is quite interesting. There are several payment or transfer mode. But the most interesting one is ‘Cash Mode’.
For the Cash Mode, you will need to swipe down on the home page of the app. The Cash Mode works like file sharing app ShareIt or Xender by using nearby feature.
The only difference is, on ShareIt you share pictures and file and here you will transfer the money. By using nearby feature, you can send or receive money to your contacts who are registered with the app.
The maximum monthly limit for merchants is 50000, exceeding that you will be asked to fulfil additional bank requirements.
Special offers and rewards:
The new Google Tez app also has some exciting offers and rewards for its users. On the home page, there are rewards and Offers option.
Every time you make any payment using Tez app, you will earn some reward points.
Apart from reward points, there are three offers available for uses. If you invite your friends to Tez, each of you will get Rs 51 in your wallet balance.
In another offer, pay Rs. 50 or more using Tez app and you will get a lucky scratch card for a chance to win Rs. 1 lakh. You will also get a scratch card worth up to Rs. 1,000 for each person on paying or getting Rs. 50 or more.
