Taiwanese tech major Asus has launched ROG Phone 2 in India. The smartphone was unveiled globally in July and the India launch was much awaited. The Asus ROG Phone 2 price is set at Rs. 37,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant in India and it will go on sale starting September 30 via Flipkart. The ROG Phone 2 will be a big billion-day special product.
ROG Phone 2 will run on Android 9.0 Pie and will have a stock Android UI.
The ROG Phone 2 has a 48 MP Sony IMX 586 sensor which uses a quad-bayer technology and f/1.79 aperture. The secondary camera is a wide-angle lens with a 125-degree field of view. For selfies, there is a 24-megapixel shooter.
The Asus phone comes equipped with a 6,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging standard. For gaming, the phone sports Air Triggers 2 which are essentially ultrasonic sensors on the top of the phone.
Asus ROG Phone 2 beats other flagships on AnTuTu and 3D Mark benchmarking platforms with the Snapdragon 855 Plus which is the first for the Indian market.
Asus ROG Phone 2 has a 240Hz touch sampling, 1ms response time, 108 per cent DCQ-P3 colour gamut, HDR support and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.
