Asus ROG phone 2 and LG G8s ThinQ, both are the recently-launched smartphones in India. The key features on the Asus ROG Phone 2include Snapdragon 855+ SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB UFS 3.0 of internal storage. It also comes with upgraded ultrasonic Air Triggers 2 for gaming, stereo speakers with DTS: X Ultra support and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the other hand, the key features on LG G8s ThinQ include Snapdragon 855 SoC processor and MIL-STD 810G-certified build, among others. On the competition front in India, the two smartphones are up against each other. Asus ROG Phone 2 

Asus ROG Phone 2 features a 6.59-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time and 10-bit HDR support. 

The phone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and it runs ROG UI based on Android Pie. The gaming-centric phone of Asus is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, paired with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 of internal storage. 

On the imaging front, Asus ROG Phone 2 comes equipped with a 48 MP Sony IMX 586 sensor which uses a quad-bayer technology and f/1.79 aperture. The primary camera is accompanied by a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 125-degrees field of view. For selfies, there is a 24-megapixel shooter. 

Asus ROG Phone 2 packs a 6,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging standard. It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication.  

Asus' new offering sports dual front-facing stereo speakers with DTS: X Ultra support and features Air Trigger 2, the upgraded version of the Asus ROG Phone's ultrasonic shoulder buttons for a console controller-like gaming experience. 

The price for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of Asus ROG Phone 2 has been set at Rs 37,999. Whereas, the higher-end 12GB + 512GB variant of the Asus ROG Phone 2 carries a price tag of Rs 59,999. 

LG G8s ThinQ 

LG G8s ThinQ features a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (1080x2248 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It runs on Android Pie. The smartphone is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. 

LG’s latest smartphone with a host of innovative features including Hand ID to identify the pattern of veins in users' hands for authentication by using infrared light. It also comes with IP68 dust and water resistance rating. 

On the imaging front, LG G8s ThinQ comes equipped with a 12-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 lens, assisted by a 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor with a 137-degree field of view, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with an f/2.6 lens. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor accompanied by a ToF Z Camera for features such as Hand ID, Air Motion, and Face Unlock for authentication. 

The all-new LG phone packs a 3,550mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The device measures 55.3x76.6x7.99mm and it weighs 181 grams. 

Connectivity options on the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C and more. 

The price for lone 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of LG G8s ThinQ in India has been set at Rs 36,990. The smartphone is available for sale via authorised retail stores across the country. It is available in Mirror Black, Mirror Teal, and Mirror White colour options.
