BSNL revises its Rs 98 prepaid plan, to offer 500MB more data per day (file photo)
State owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has recently revised its popular Rs 98 prepaid plan which will be valid across the country. As per a report by Telecom Talk, the new revised plan will also offer Eros Now subscription to its subscribers and the telecom company has made significant changes in its data limit and validity as well.
As per the new revision in the prepaid plan, the Rs 98 pack will now offer 2GB high-speed data per day which is 500MB more than its previous offering. Even, the validity period has been changed and reduced by two days. Now, the validity period has been reduced to 24 days from 26 days. Once the user exhaust 2GB daily limit, they can still enjoy internet services but at the reduced speed of 80 kbps.
However, the BSNL Rs 98 pack is a data only plan and doesn’t offer free voice calling and SMS services under it.
Let us also take a look at its rival operators with similar price. Airtel also has Rs 98 prepaid plan with a validity period of 28 days which provides 5GB of total high-speed data with no daily data cap. It means if the user exhausts the whole 5GB 4G data in single day, there is no more data left for them.
Another important aspect of the pack is that the user will only get 5GB of high-speed data but free voice calling and per day SMS and is only valid in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles.
Even the Reliance Jio is offering Rs 98 prepaid plan which comes with just 2GB of high-speed data in total for a validity period of 28 days. Unlike Airtel and BSNL, this plan will also offer free national, local and STD calling services along with free access to Jio suites of apps
