Thousands of Facebook users were unable to access the popular social media for minutes, apparently because of a technical problem on Wednesday for few minutes.
Several users across India faced problems opening the facebook login page. While the problem was largely reported from United Kingdom and Northern Europe.Â
People largely complained that the page was not opening.Â
Facebook users said that their browser page read, “This site can’t be reached.’
They further added that the browser page further read, “The web page at might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_FAILEDâ€
A Facebook spokesperson said that the isse was caused by a Javascript code change that affected some people using desktop version of the site on Google Chrome.

According to Dailymail report, out of the total issues, 53 percent experienced total blackout with the site, while 37 percent faced issues while logging in.Â
A spokesperson for Facebook told MailOnline, “Some people may have had trouble accessing Facebook on the desktop version of Chrome for a short period of time. We're back to 100 percent for everyone, and we're sorry for any inconvenience.â€
While, people were able to access Facebook using incognito mode of Google Chrome.
