Facebook on Wednesday issued a statement saying that an issue with uploading or sending media files on its apps and platforms has been resolved.

Facebook on Wednesday issued a statement saying that an issue with uploading or sending media files on its apps and platforms has been resolved.

In a statement on Twitter, Facebook said, “Earlier today, some people and businesses experienced trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps and platforms. The issue has since been resolved and we should be back at 100% for everyone. We're sorry for any inconvenience.”

In the meantime, a clarification was also issued by official account of Instagram on Twitter saying that it is back. It said, “We’re back! The issue has been resolved and we should be back at 100% for everyone. We're sorry for any inconvenience.”

Earlier in the day, social media networking sites including Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram experienced severe outage in India and across the world. Many users globally were not able to send and receive images, videos and other files over its social media platforms including WhatsApp and Instagram.

According to outage tracking website Downdetector.com, over 14,000 users reported issues with Instagram, while more than 7,500 and 1,600 users complained about Facebook and WhatsApp. Also downdetector’s live outage map showed the issues were mainly in parts of Europe and the United States.

Taking a note of the issue, Facebook said that it was working to fix the problem. “We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We're sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
