Facebook users has been demanding ‘dislike’ button on the website for a long time now, the social media giant has come up with Reddit-style upvote and downvote buttons on public posts as of now.

But, it is not the ‘dislike’ button. But, the users can use it to flag undesirable comments which will hide the comment after taping it.

However, this feature will not be available to every user. And as per TNW, the majority of user who got access to this feature are based out of Australia and New Zealand.

As per The Next Web, ‘’Now, it appears the feature is rolling out to a greater number of users. The Reddit-style 'downvote' button aims to improve the quality of discourse on the platform’’.

Facebook introduced ‘like’ button in the year 2009 through which the users can express their approval for any post in their Feed.

With the introduction of upvote and downvote buttons, Facebook is enabling its users to combat fake news and other unwanted posts in the Feed by drawing a fine line ‘between censorship and sensibility’.

In the recent past, Facebook also introduced few emoticons along with the ‘like’ button including Love, Laugh, Angry, Sad and Wow.
