Facebook’s not so popular app ‘stand-alone Groups app’ is going to stop its operations starting September 1. The app, which was launched in 2014 does not have many users. In fact, most of the Facebook users do not even know about such an app. Due to low traffic on the app, the giant company has finally decided to shut its services.

But the Facebook users don’t have to worry about their existing groups as they won’t be deleted but the app designed especially for those groups will be shut down. The groups that have been created or joined by the users can find them in the main Facebook app. The reason, which the company has given behind this decision is that they would like to focus more on the new features and tools for the groups.

The Facebook in a note to its users said, "Thanks for using the Groups app. On September 1, this app will be going away so we can focus on improving groups experience in the main Facebook app."

The Groups app is currently available on both Android and iOS phones. Facebook is known for making changes as soon as they realise that the features they are offering are not exciting enough or need an update. Now, one can only wait and see how the company will deal with it and make the users’ experience more exciting.
