Users under the age of 13 will now have to ask their guardians to open the game for them

Popular online multiplayer battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) has decided to implement digital lock for its users under 13 years of age. Users under the age of 13 will now have to ask their guardians to open the game for them. PUBG Mobile has over 200 million devices and 30 million daily active players. "Tencent is continuing to double down on how it restricts younger players from accessing some of its games in China, this time with a digital lock system that will lock out players under the age of 13," gamesindustrybiz.com reported. The move is seen to curb gaming addiction among youngsters.

Other restrictions include streaming the game content and prohibiting violence, gambling or any other "damaging behaviour," reports say.

This comes after another Chinese mobile application developed by ByteDance TikTok started restricting underage users from using the video-sharing app.

Earlier, Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) had issued an advisory against games like PUBG and said that it has a harmful, negative and an adverse impact on the brain of the children.

The website also reveals that while the Zima is relatively slow, it has high durability making it ideal for combat situations.

Another vehicle which is introduced in the new update is a snowbike which is replacing motorbikes on Vikendi. As per the PUBG website, What the Snowbike lacks in durability, it makes up for with high speed and great maneuverability.
