Google’s Allo chat app now finally available on your computer

Google has announced a new chat application to the web. Google chat app launched Allo for the web on Chrome, but if you want to use it, you need a smartphone to pair with it.This can be installed by scanning a QR code on your Android phone. Google first hinted at Allo coming to desktop soon back in February when, Nick Fox, Google’s VP of Communications Products, tweeted a sneak peek photo of a desktop web app for Google Allo. 

Allo is Google’s smart messaging app with plenty of stickers, adjustable text sizes, and Gmail-style Smart Reply that lets you reply with a single tap. As the site explains, Allo “learns if you're more of a ‘haha’ or ‘lol’ person so the more you use Google Allo, the more ‘you’ the suggestions become. ”Other than the  Allo app, Google also offers Hangouts, Duo and YouTube Chat for its users to communicate with close friends and family.Earlier it was expected to come in may but it comes now after months of testing that Allo for the web has gone live.

Unfortunately, it’s only available on Android and Chrome but Google promises iOS support is coming soon.Google Allo is a messaging app for Android and iPhone users.

You can chat, share photos and stickers, but the standout feature is its use of Google Assistant, the smart AI assistant. Itinclude smart replies, the ability to shout and whisper by changing the size of the font, photo editing, stickers and support for Google Assistant. A majority of these features are available on Allo for the web as well, but taking photos, deleting conversations or starting chats with someone who isn’t in your contact list won’t be.
