Honor, the sub-brand of Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei, on January 12 launched Honor 20i in the Indian market. However, the smartphone will go on sale in India next week. On the competition front in India, the Honor 20i is up against Redmi Note 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy M40.

Honor 20i

The device measures 154.8x73.64x7.95mm and it weighs 164 grams.

Honor 20i comes in 6.21-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The dual-SIM (Nano) Honor 20i is powered by octa-core Kirin 710F SoC, paired with the Mali G51MP4 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The smartphone runs Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0.1 on top. The budget phone also comes with the GPU Turbo 2.0 feature to provide an enhanced gaming experience.

As far as the optics are concerned, the Honor 20i is equipped with a triple rear camera setup, which sports a 24-megapixel Primary shooter with an f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. It houses a 32-megapixel camera on the front.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and Bluetooth 4.2. It is packed with a 3,400mAh battery.

Redmi Note 7 Pro

The smartphone measures at 159.21x75.21x8.1mm and weighs 186 grams.

Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a larger 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) LTPS display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It also has a 2.5D curved glass protection.

The smartphone features a waterdrop-shaped notch, a slight chin at the bottom of the display.

In terms of optics, Redmi Note 7 Pro has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor that sits on the dual rear camera setup, along with an f/1.8 aperture and another 5-megapixel sensor. The Redmi Note 7 packs a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 support. On the front, there is a 13-megapixel selfie camera with several AI features like face unlock, smart beauty.

The smartphone comes in Neptune Blue, Nebula Red, and Space Black colour options.

Connectivity options on the Redmi Note 7 Pro include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro price in India has been set at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model, while its 6GB RAM and128GB storage option is priced at Rs 16,999.

Samsung Galaxy M40

The smartphone weighs 168 grams and has 7.9mm of thickness.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ Infinity-O Display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 480 nits of brightness. The device runs 9 Pie with One UI on top and has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC, paired with Adreno 612 GPU and 6GB of RAM.

As far as the optics are concerned, the smartphone is equipped with a triple rear camera setup that houses a 32-megapixel primary shooter. There’s also a 5-megapixel secondary and an 8-megapixel tertiary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. There is a 16-megapixel shooter on the front.

On the space front, the Galaxy M40 has 128GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB).

It packs a 3,500mAh battery which is paired with a 15W fast charging technology.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS and a USB Type-C port. It is to be noted that there is a fingerprint sensor at the back.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 comes in two colour options i.e. Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue gradient.

The smartphone will go on sale starting June 18 through Amazon.in and Samsung Online Shop with a price tag of Rs 19,990.
