This can be irritating for anyone who wants to enjoy YouTube videos while using WhatsApp. Officially, YouTube app doesn't allow this for both Android and iOS but there is a quick trick to get this done.
So, we’ve compiled some alternative methods of watching the YouTube videos while on WhatsApp.
Here are the ways to watch YouTube videos in the background of your phone.
For Android users:
- On Google Chrome open YouTube.
- Tap on the vertical three-dots icon on the top-right and select Desktop site after the page is loaded.
- Search for the video you want to watch and play it.
- The next page that pops up will automatically play your video.
- Exit to the home screen.
- This will lead to pausing your video
- Pull down the notification bar, and you will see the media controls of the video.
- Tap play and your video will start playing in the background.
For iPhone users
- Open YouTube on Safari
- Tap the aA icon on the top-left, in the address bar, followed by Request Desktop Website.
- Search for the video you want to watch and play it.
- Exit to the home screen.
- Swipe down from the top-right on iPhones with Face ID or swipe up from the bottom of the screen on iPhones without Face ID to control the centre.
- On the top right, tap play and your video will start playing in the background.
