Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, has recently announced that it will be launching Mate 30 series in December this year. The development comes days after US President Donald Trump announced that US companies can sell goods to the Huawei. It is to be noted that previously Trump administration blacklisted Huawei, calling it a threat to US national security.
Coming back to the upcoming smartphones from the company, Huawei shared its roadmap for its 5G phones for 2019 at a conference in Russia. It confirmed that the Mate 30 series will have a 5G version and it will be launched in December.
According to the media reports, two Mate 30 models including a base model and a Mate 30 Pro will be launched. The Mate 30 Pro is expected to come with a 90Hz refresh rate, an updated Kirin 985 chipset that will also use a Balong 5000 5G modem, a rear camera setup which will offer 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom, and a 55W fast charging support.
On the other hand, Mate X is already official and will go on sale in September, 2019. It is Huawei's first foldable smartphone that with flexible display that folds like a book. The Mate X only gets a single large 8-inch flexible OLED display that folds on a Falcon Wing proprietary hinge design. When folded, the affordable smartphone a 6.6-inch 19.5:9 display on one side and a 6.38-inch display on the back. It is powered by a Kirin 980 chipset with Balong 5000 5G modem and comes with a 4,500mAH battery.
Now that the Trump administration is deciding to overturn the ban, it is ascertain whether upcoming Huawei phones will once again use Google's Android or the new HongMeng OS (called Arc OS globally).
