Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is all set to launch its new handset Huawei Y9 (2019) in India. The company has already rolled out media invites for the launch event. This will be the first major smartphone launch of the year. Key specifications of the smartphone include its quad cameras, 6.5-inch FHD+ display, and GPU Turbo. Other highlights of the Huawei Y9 (2019) include its 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology and a small display notch at the top. The smartphone comes in the mid-range segment and is expected to be priced roughly around Rs 20,000 in India, according to reports. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the pricing by the company.

Huawei Y9 (2019) will be exclusive to Amazon India and the e-commerce site has put up a dedicated page for the smartphone launch. The phone succeeds the Huawei Y9 (2018) that was launched in October last year but was limited to the Chinese market.

Huawei Y9 is equipped with 3GB RAM, 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variants. The smartphone ships with EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The device will be offered in Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, Aurora Purple colour options. Huawei Y9 under the hood includes a non-removable Li-Ion 4,000mAh battery. Connectivity options on the Huawei Y9 include Bluetooth, Micro USB, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hot Spot, and GPS / AGPS / Glonass, 4G VoLTE, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
On the camera front, there is a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, coupled with an LED flash, HDR, and PDAF.

For selfies, there is also dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel main sensor with f/1.0 aperture and another 2-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras are expected to get AI-based features.
The Huawei Y9 (2019) comes with a 3D arc design on the back with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. For gaming, the smartphone gets a GPU Turbo feature that enhances the performance.
