The craze of iPhone 8 in the market has led to a plethora of leaks, with users getting curious to know about its new specifications. Now, in one of the latest leaks, The HomePod firmware has revealed that the iPhone 8 might sport a resizeable home button and allow its users to make payment through facial recognition.

In a series of tweets, developer Steve Troughton-Smith has stated that the phone will be resizable, and part of a “periphery area” that can be expanded or minimized, with the home button hidden as needed. He further added that there is no API to change colour of the home button and that the tab bars extend under it.

On the other hand,  developer Guilherme Rambo has found references to ‘Pearl ID’ (Apple’s codename for its facial recognition system) that suggest it will be able to store multiple faces and will be accessible by third party apps.

Troughton-Smith also share the mockup of the expected screen space on the iPhone 8. The leaks also include the phrase ‘multi biometric’, which suggests the phone might support two-step biometric authentication for extra security.

The reports also suggest that the much-awaited smartphone will not be launched until November due to the issues associated with impelmentation of fingerprint scanner.
