Social media giant Facebook, which was in the headlines for linking Aadhaar cards to users’ accounts, rolls out drastic News Feed changes alerting what every user sees.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Friday took to his official Facebook handle to announce the news. In his post Zuckerberg clarifies new strategies for 2018 and said, one of their big focuses for the new year is making sure the time people spend on Facebook is time well spent.

However, the major changes in its News Feed will mainly harm the business of those news portals and various brands who depend on Facebook in order to promote their contents and products.

The idea of an overhauled feed comes in their mind and is being implemented after they have received feedback from community that public content- posts from businesses, brands and media- is crowding out the personal moments that lead people to connect more with each other.

“Video and other public content have exploded on Facebook in the past couple of years. Since there's more public content than posts from your friends and family, the balance of what's in News Feed has shifted away from the most important thing Facebook can do -- help us connect with each other,” Mark Zuckerberg said.
