Micromax brought its Bharat range of affordable smartphones with the launch of the Bharat 2 in April. The smartphone debuted with 4G VoLTE support and was launched at a price of Rs 3,499. Moreover, in September, Micromax launched the Bharat 3 and Bharat 4 with Android 7.0 Nougat and localised features such as support for 22 Indian languages.
While the Bharat 3 was priced at Rs 4,499, the Bharat 4 had arrived with a price tag of Rs 4,999. Micromax was once India’s second-largest handset company, but in the recent years, the company has lost its market share to strong competition from Chinese players like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo among others.
