Microsoft plans demise of legendary ‘Paint’ after 32 years

New Delhi:

Software giant Microsoft is planning to end its one of the most legendary drawing software, Paint after bringing in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update list.

Since 1985, Paint has been part of the Windows operating system and is known for its simplicity and basic artistic results.

It is to be noted that Paint's successor, Paint 3D, will still be available.

In a list released by Microsoft, Paint has been labelled "deprecated", meaning it could be removed when the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is released later this year.

Paint has a nostalgia with many Windows users despite never really having huge functionality versus other apps such as Adobe's Photoshop. But the sheer simplicity was perhaps what made it so popular.

The first version of Paint was introduced with the first version of Windows, Windows 1.0, in November 1985.
