Motorola has recently launched a new mid-range smartphone under G-series i.e. Moto G8 Plus. The key features on the newly-launched smartphone include a triple rear camera setup, a water repellent design, and 15W TurboPower fast charging, among others. Moto G8 Plus
Moto G8 Plus features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) IPS LCD display with 19:9 aspect ratio, a U-shaped notch, and a pixel density of 400ppi.
The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) connectivity and runs stock Android 9 Pie and comes with a promise of an assured upgrade to Android 10.
Under the hood, Moto G8 Plus is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz, ticking alongside the Adreno 610 GPU, and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
On the imaging front, Moto G8 Plus comes equipped with the triple rear camera setup which houses a 48-megapixel main camera with the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor with an f/1.79 aperture. The primary shooter is assisted by a 16-megapixel dedicated action camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 117-degrees field of view, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Also, there is a 25-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture on the front.
Moto G8 Plus comes with 64GB of internal storage that can further be expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB) but at the cost of dual-SIM functionality.
Connectivity options on Moto G8 Plus include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Qualcomm aptX, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
Sensors onboard include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, fingerprint reader, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and a magnetometer.
The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery that supports 15W charging with the bundled 15W TurboPower charger. It measures 158.35x75.83x9.09mm and weighs 188 grams.
The price for the lone 4GB + 64GB variant of Moto G8 Plus in India has been set at Rs 13,999. The smartphone comes in Cosmic Blue and Crystal Pink colour options with a subtle gradient design. Moto G8 Plus will be available from the end of October via Flipkart.
LG Q60
LG Q60 sports a 6.26-inch HD+ (1520x720 pixels) FullVision Display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs Android 9 Pie with LG UI on top.
The smartphone is powered by the octa-core Mediatek Helio P22 processor, clocked at 2.0GHz, paired with 3GB RAM. The internal storage on the phone is 64GB and it can further be expanded using a microSD card (up to 2TB).
On the imaging front, LG Q60 comes equipped with a triple camera setup that houses a 16-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.0 lens, assisted by a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens and a 5-megapixel super wide angle sensor with a 120-degree field of view. Interestingly, Google Lens support is also available on the phone. Also, there is a 13-megapixel camera to handle selfies and video calls.
It packs a 3,500mAh battery and relies on a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock for authentication.
The device measures 161.3 x 77 x 8.7mm and tips the scales at 172 grams. Connectivity options include dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS.
