Motorola Razr (2019), the Lenovo-owned smartphone brand’s foldable phone, was recently unveiled at a press event in Los Angeles. The new foldable phone features a flexible screen that folds completely in half to give it the traditional look. Motorola has also added a secondary screen on the front, which it calls a Quick View external display, to offer faster access to notifications, music, Google Assistant, and more. Motorola Razr (2019)

Motorola Razr (2019) looks similar to the original Motorola Razr, including the curved bottom chin. The smartphone maker has also made the design water-repellent.

The primary display of the Motorola Razr (2019) is a 6.2-inch flexible OLED HD+ (876x2142 pixels) screen with 21:9 aspect ratio that as mentioned can fold completely in half. However, consumers can access the secondary 2.7-inch (600x800 pixels) Quick View display that can be used to take selfies, view notifications, control music playback, and a lot more.

Motorola Razr (2019) runs stock Android 9 Pie. The foldable phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM.

On the imaging front, Motorola Razr (2019) comes equipped with a single 16-megapixel f/1.7 primary shooter. It also acts as a selfie camera in the phone's folded state. The camera comes with Night Vision mode that takes good photos even in low-lighting conditions. AI algorithms have been used to make low-light images better.

Interestingly, there is a 5-megapixel camera present in the main display notch of Motorola Razr (2019). It can be used to take selfies when you don't want to fold the phone.

The bottom chin of the Motorola’s foldable phone houses the fingerprint sensor as well as the USB Type-C port. It packs a 2510mAh battery that comes with 15W fast charging support. There is no SIM card slot of the phone, but it does support eSIM cards.

Motorola has added NFC support, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, and GPS. The Motorola Razr (2019) measures 72x172x6.9mm in the unfolded state and 72x94x14mm in the folded. Motorola Razr (2019) weighs 205 grams.

The price for the Motorola Razr in the US has been set at $1,499.99 (approx. Rs 1,07,400). Motorola Razr (2019) will go on sale starting January 9, 2020 in the United States.

Samsung Galaxy Fold

Samsung Galaxy Fold comes equipped with two displays - with one flat-screen featuring at the front and the second internal screen that sports a foldable design. While the front display has a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED panel with an HD+ (840x1960 pixels) resolutions and 21:9 aspect ratio, the foldable display includes a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED panel that has a QXGA+ (1536x2152 pixels) resolution with 4.2:3 aspect ratio.

Samsung Galaxy Fold runs Android 9 Pie with a tweaked One UI skin on top. The phone is powered by an octa-core SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM. It also comes with a 512GB of internal storage. Note that the storage is not expandable.

On the imaging front, Samsung Galaxy Fold has a triple rear camera setup, two cameras at the front, and a single selfie shooter on the cover.

On the back, the triple camera setup includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an ultra-wide f/2.2 lens and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with a Dual Pixel AF lens that supports OIS and variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture. There is also a 12-megapixel telephoto tertiary sensor with PDAF, OIS, an f/2.4 lens that enables 2X optical zoom. The front-facing dual camera setup features a 10-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens and an 8-megapixel secondary RGB depth sensor with an f/1.9 lens. On the other hand, the cover of the phone includes a 10-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 lens.

Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. It comes with stereo speakers. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light, barometer, geomagnetic, gyroscope, in-display fingerprint, and proximity sensor.

It packs a dual battery that has a capacity of 4,380mAh and supports wired as well as wireless charging. Also, there is a Wireless PowerShare feature that enables reverse charging.

The device measures 62.8x160.9x17.1 mm when folded and 117.9x160.9x7.6 mm when unfolded along with 276 grams of weight. The price for the lone 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant of Samsung Galaxy Fold in India has been set at Rs 1,64,999. The phone comes in Cosmos Black colour option.
