Nokia fans out there in India have got a reason to rejoice as the Finnish company has finally launched its most-awaited first Android flagship, the Nokia 8 at a price of Rs 36,999.
The Nokia 8 is the first high-end smartphone from the company and sports XEISS certified dual cameras, OZO audio, stock Android, an all-metal design and more.
The Nokia 8 smartphone will hit sales on October 14 and will be available for purchase both online and offline. The Nokia 8 has been launched to take on the likes of OnePlus 5. With Nokia 8, the HMD Global aims to capture the high-end smartphone market in the country.
The company has launched its fourth smartphone after the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6.
Nokia 8 specifications
The Nokia 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor and comes packed with 4GB of RAM, Adreno 540 GPU and a 3,090 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 support. The smartphone features a heat management solution - a graphite protected copper cooling pipe dissipates heat across the full length and breadth of the smartphone.

Talking about the design, the Nokia 8 is made out of a single piece of series 6000 aluminum. It underwent a 40-stage process of machining, anodizing and polishing. The Nokia 8 retains the design ethos of old Lumia smartphones still looks modern and contemporary at the same time. The handset is 4.6mm at the edge and 7.3mm thin on average.
The Nokia 8 sports a 5.2-inch QuadHD display with Gorilla Glass 5 on top that protects against nicks and scratches and provides a maximum brightness of 700 Nits. The Glance Screen shows time, notifications even if the phone is turned off. The internal storage is 64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 25GB via a microSD.
ZEISS powered dual cameras
The Nokia 8 sports a ZEISS-powered dual camera at the rear with a primary 13MP RGB (color) sensor with optical image stabilisation and a secondary 13MP monochrome (black and white) sensor.
The smartphone comes with a 13MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 developed in conjunction with ZEISS optics. The Nokia 8 runs on a 100 percent sock build of Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The special features on Nokia 8 include Bothie which allows 'Dual-Sight' video to be live streamed natively and in real-time to social feeds like
Facebook and YouTube. Dual-Sight lets you use both the front as well as the rear camera at the same time in a split-screen view. This feature can be used in both photos and videos.
The second special feature is the OZO Audio which allows to capture 360 degree audio via the phone's three microphones and Nokia's special acoustic algorithms.
Lastly, the smarphone is IP68 dust and water resistant. You can dunk it in up to 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes.
Availability
The Nokia 8 will be available for purchase from October 14 via both online and offline channels. The smartphone will be sold exclusively via Amazon India.
