HMD Global has finally announced the Nokia’s latest smartphone Nokia 8.1 at an event in Dubai. The handset will be coming to India this month, and HMD has already sent out invites for an event on December 10. The Nokia 8.1 will replace the Nokia 7 Plus in the country. China exclusive Nokia X7 brings the same design and a hardware as that of Nokia 8.1. Key specification of the Nokia 8.1 is its camera that displays AI capabilities along with a “Dual-Sight” mode which allows the user to live stream videos on social media by using the front and rear camera simultaneously.
Nokia 8.1 is priced at 399 EUR (approximately Rs 32,000) in Europe. However, the price in India is expected to be under Rs 30,000.

Nokia 8.1 specifications
Nokia 8.1 sports a larger display of 6.18-inch FHD+ with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 81 per cent screen-to-body ratio and HDR10 support.
Nokia 8.1 is equipped with 64GB inbuilt storage option, expandable via microSD card (up to 400GB) and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone will ship with Android One device and runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.
The device will be offered in blue/silver, steel/copper, iron/steel colour options. Nokia 8.1 is fuelled by a 3,500mAh battery which supports fast charging and has a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options on the Nokia 8.1 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual-band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (v3.1) with OTG functionality, and NFC, according to reports.

On the camera front, the device has a dual camera setup on the back which includes a 13-megapixel primary IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels, and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor.
For selfies, Nokia 8.1 has a 20-megapixel sensor on the front with f/2.0 aperture.
