Premium smartphone maker OnePlus on Tuesday said that it has recorded Rs 500 crore revenue in just two days of the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale, thanks to newly-launched OnePlus 7T and OnePlus TV Q1. It is to be noted that both OnePlus 7T smartphone and OnePlus TV Q1 were launched on September 26, 2019.
In a statement, OnePlus said, "The recently unveiled OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus TV 55Q1 saw tremendous uptake registering the highest-ever sales in the premium smartphone category and the TV category respectively on Amazon.in." “OnePlus has seen over 100 per cent growth as compared to the previous year,” it added.
OnePlus India General Manager Vikas Agarwal said, "The new OnePlus 7T and our OnePlus TVs are a result of our continued focus on building products that offer our community the perfect balance of performance and design that provides for a seamless user experience." "India is one of our most important markets and we will strive to ensure an unparalleled, superior experience for our users," he added.
In the meantime, Amazon India Vice President - Category Management Manish Tiwary said, "Our affordability programmes such as no-cost EMI, exchange, instant bank discounts and more, continue to enable record number of customers to upgrade to premium phones this festive season."
OnePlus has emerged as the best-selling technology brand in the premium segment with over 100 per cent growth as compared to the previous year, thanks to the new products launched ahead of festive season.
It is worth mentioning here that OnePlus TV Q1 Pro costs Rs 99,900 while OnePlus TV Q1 is priced at Rs 69,900. Whereas, the price of OnePlus 7T Glacier Blue (8GB+128GB) variant in India has been set at Rs 37,999. While OnePlus 7T Glacier Blue (8GB+256GB) costs Rs 39,999 and OnePlus 7T Frosted Silver (8GB+128GB) model is priced at Rs 37,999.
Importantly, India is among one of India's largest markets for OnePlus, accounting for around 33 per cent of its global revenue. According to Counterpoint Market Research, the Chinese Smartphone maker emerged as the best-selling premium smartphone brand of 2018 and also led the premium smartphone segment (priced over Rs 30,000) for three consecutive quarters, capturing 36 per cent of the market in October-December 2018.
