Oppo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has launched A9 at the price of Rs 15,490. The key highlights of the Oppo A9 include an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 SoC, 128GB of onboard storage, dual rear camera setup and a full-HD+ display. The device will go on sale in India from July 20 onwards via both online and offline stores.
It is to be noted that the Oppo A9 comes in a lone variant i.e. 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option. The device measures 162x76.1x8.3mm. It features a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) display with a waterdrop-style notch and 90.70 percent of screen-to-body ratio. There is also a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The dual-SIM (Nano) Oppo A9 runs ColorOS 6 which is based on Android Pie. It has octa-core Helio P70 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM. It packs 128GB of onboard storage.
On the imagining front, the Oppo A9 houses a dual rear camera setup that has a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor - along with an LED flash. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies along with an f/2.0 lens.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB with OTG support. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light, proximity, and a gyroscope. The smartphone comes with a powerful 4,020mAh battery.
On the competition front, Oppo A9 is up against Samsung Galaxy M30, Honor 10 Lite, Realme 3 Pro and Redmi Note 7 Pro in the Indian market. It is to be noted that Oppo A9 was first launched in China earlier this year at CNY 1,799 (approx. Rs 18,000).
