Oppo retail stores to hit Indian markets, Louis Vuitton may be next

Chinese smartphone manufacture company Oppo Electronics finally received permission to open single brand based stores in India ahead of Apple, Louis Vuitton, Amazon.com and Acer.

Opening their own retail shop will make the way for the company to see directly to consumers which will add to their existing wholesale business.

Oppo aims to set its target of building around 550 stores across the world’s third-largest smartphones market.

On Tuesday, Foreign Investment Promotion Board approves Oppo’s request to a notice on the department’s website.

Officials of Oppo in a statement told, “While we cannot divulge the investment in SBRT, to provide better service to our Indian consumers we closely work with our distribution and retail partners, we are aiming at building 550 service centres by the end of 2017 to cover all regions among India’’.

As per latest reports, Oppo is planning to build a manufacturing plant near New Delhi and export smartphones which is made in India to other markets for instance Philippines.

However, Indian government requires foreign investors to source 30% of the products locally to operate their own retail stores.
