In recent times, the Indian market has seen many smartphone launches in the price range Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 category, due to the cut-throat competition between brands like Redmi, Poco, and Realme. Smartphones like Poco F1, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and Realme 5 Pro are direct competitors to each other in the price range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000. Poco F1

Poco F1 features a 6.18-inch full-HD+ display with 500 nits peak brightness. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. On the optics front, the Poco F1 is equipped with a dual-camera setup on the back with 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 and 5-megapixel sensors. On the front, Poco F1 has a 20-megapixel camera with HDR.

The smartphone also comes with a special version of MIUI, called MIUI for Poco, based on Android 9 Pie. There is a dedicated Poco Launcher, centred around app drawer and customisations. Additionally, the device comes with 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, a microSD card slot (up to 256GB) and 4G LTE support. The smartphone is offered in Steel Blue, Graphite Black, and Rosso Red colours.

The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model of Poco F1 costs Rs 17,999. The mid-variant with 128GB storage and 6GB RAM costs Rs 20,999. Lastly, the top-end variant with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM costs Rs 27,999.

Redmi Note 8 Pro

Redmi Note 8 Pro sports a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, waterdrop-style notch and Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back. The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on MIUI 10, based on Android 9 Pie.

The smartphone is powered by Helio G90T SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. The phone comes with liquid cooling support for the enhanced gaming experience. There are also features such as the Game Turbo 2.0 mode to please mobile gamers.

On the imaging front, Redmi Note 8 Pro sports four cameras the back. It is the first smartphone to have a 64-megapixel main camera. The primary sensor is joined by the 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and two 2-megapixel cameras. On the front, the smartphone houses 20-megapixel selfie camera.

Connectivity options on the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, IR blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and a magnetometer. The smartphone also comes with an rear-facing fingerprint sensor. Redmi Note 8 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery with support of 18W fast charging. The phone measures 161.7x76.4x8.81mm and weigh 200 grams.

The price for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro in India has been set at Rs 14,999. While its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option costs Rs 15,999, the top-of-the-line 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model carries a price tag of Rs 17,999.

Apart from Electric Blue colour, the smartphone is available in Gamma Green, Halo White, and Shadow Black colour options.

Realme 5 Pro

Realme 5 Pro sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ for protection. Realme 5 Pro, which has dual-SIM (Nano), runs Color OS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM.

On the imaging front, Realme 5 Pro sports a quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. Also, there is an electronic image stabilisation (EIS) tech included. On the front, Realme 5 Pro houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

Connectivity options on the Realme 5 Pro include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, a GPS/ A-GPS, a3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.

Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, a magnetometer and a proximity sensor. It comes in 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage options, expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB). Realme 5 Pro packs a 4,035mAh capable of VOOC 3.0 fast charging tech.

The device measures 157x74.2x8.9mm and it weighs 184 grams. A fingerprint sensor is also available on the rear panel.The 4GB + 64GB variant of Realme 5 Pro costs Rs 13,999. The price of 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants of Realme 5 Pro has been set at Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively.
