Priya Prakash Varrier, the Malayalam actor who swooned India’s heart with a ‘wink’ has now become the most searched personality of the year, according to Google India. The 19-year-old who shot to viral fame after her 'wink song' in 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi...' from the film Oru Addar Love now ranks higher in the search list even than our very own desi girl, Priyanka Chopra herself.

The Malayalam actress was followed by Nick Jonas while wifey Priyanka Chopra ranked fourth in the most searched personality on Google. The second and fifth positions went to dance performer Sapna Choudhary and actor Sonam Kapoor's husband Anand Ahuja respectively.

While Kedarnath star, Sara Ali Khan came sixth in the most searched list following her debut seen alongside Sushant Singh Rajput. Sara was followed by the Dabbang himself, Salman Khan, singer Anup Jalota and late Sri Devi’s husband, Booney Kapoor.

Other personalities to make the list were the royal personage, Meghan Markle. The American actor turned Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle figured in the list of most-searched-for personalities from India, Google revealed in its "Year in Search" results.

On the cinema front, the Bollywood blockbusters outshone Hollywood in the search lists, with Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer, Robot 2.0 taking the top spot, followed by 'Baaghi 2' and 'Race 3'. While Hollywood entries to make the list were from Marvel Studios: 'Avengers: Infinity War', 'Black Panther' and 'Deadpool 2'.

Big Boss was also the top choice when it came to entertainment this year, surpassing equeries related to the Rajinikanth/Akshay blockbuster Robot 2.0.

While Bollywood songs that flooded the search list include Neha Kakkar's Dilbar Dilbar, Arijit Singh's Tera Fitoor and Atif Aslam's Dekhte Dekhte. Despacito which also had the highest views ever on YouTube interestingly, also happened to make it to the 'Year in Search' list since last year.

All in all, 2018’s Google search list was dominated by sports and entertainment with queries around FIFA World Cup 2018 leading the pack followed by the Indian Premier League (IPL). Other interesting search lists also include the ‘kiki challenge’, world's largest statue-the Statue of Unity in Gujarat and other news topics including the striking down of Section 377, the union budget, bitcoin, as well as the Nipah virus.
