Chinese handset maker Realme has expended its budget line-up in India with the launch of ‘5i’ smartphone on January 9. The Realme 5i smartphone is loaded with a quad-camera rear setup and packs 5,000 mAh battery. Realme, the successor to Realme 3i smartphone, comes with a sunrise design that draws inspiration from the power and hope of the first rays of the sun. Realme 5i will be available in two colours – Aqua Blue and Forest Green and has a single configuration variant of 4 GB + 64 GB. The smartphone will go on sale on January 15 and Flipkart and realme.com.
"We are happy that over 5.5 million customers have enjoyed our realme 5 series and the newest addition realme 5i will further solidify our budget quad-camera category. Our customers will be provided with stunning design, bigger view along with bigger storage," Madhav Sheth, CEO, Realme India, said in a statement.
Key Specifications
The camera setup includes an ultra-wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture lens (8MP), primary lens (12MP), portrait lens (2MP), and ultra-macro lens (2MP). It will have an AI front camera (8MP).
"We have equipped Realme 5 series with the best-in-class processors, designs and camera experience to deliver unmatched user experience," he added.
Realme 5i houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 AIE octa-core chipset and is equipped with reverse charging. The smartphone offers 4k video and 240 fps slow-motion shooting. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and GPS. Sensors onboard the Realme 5i are a compass, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and fingerprint sensor for authentication. The new Realme phone measures 164.4 x 75 x 9.3mm and weighs 195 grams.
Realme 5i unveiled in Vietnam
Meanwhile, Realme 5i was unveiled in Vietnam on Monday (January 6, 2020). The base variant with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant of Realme 5i in Vietnam has been set at VND 3,690,000 (approx. Rs 11,500), while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model costs VND 4,290,000 (approx. Rs 13,500).
