The smartphones are raining these days. Aren’t they? Due to the cut-throat competition, the Indian market has some great phones under Rs 7,000. Well, it's good for the consumer in every way. Xiaomi, Realme, and Lenovo are currently offering some decent smartphones under Rs 7,000 budget that considered while making a decision to buy a smartphone.

Redmi 8A

Redmi 8A sports a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and it runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with up to 3GB of RAM.

On the imaging front, Redmi 8A comes equipped with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor at the back along with an f/1.8 lens and an LED flash. It also has an 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front. The phone includes an AI Face Unlock feature. Also, it has a fingerprint sensor at the back.

Redmi 8A has 32GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB) through a dedicated slot. Connectivity options on Redmi 8A include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device packs a massive 5,000mAh Li-Polymer battery with support for 18W fast charging technology.

The price for 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant of Redmi 8A in India has been set at Rs 6,499. On the other hand, the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option of Redmi 8A costs Rs 6,999. The phone comes in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Sunset Red.

Realme C2

Realme C2 is powered by a dewdrop display, diamond-cut design, Helio P22 chipset, and a large 4,000mAh battery, among others. Realme C2 price starts at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM+16GB storage variant and goes up to RS 7,999 for the 3GB RAM+32GB storage model.

The phone consists of a 6.1-inch HD+ display with dewdrop notch housing the selfie camera and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. A MediaTek Helio P22 chipset power the phones clocked at 2GHz with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Realme C2 has Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6.0. Interestingly, Realme C2 is one of the cheapest phones to run on Android Pie.

The dual VoLTE smartphone has a triple card slot that can support two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card. An additional microSD card slot allows storage expansion up to 256GB. As far as cameras are concerned, the phone sports a 13MP primary camera along with a 2MP secondary depth camera. On the front, Realme C2 has a 5MP AI selfie camera. Another notable aspect of the Realme C2 is its large 4,000mAh battery.

Vivo Y90

Vivo Y90 measures 55.11x75.09x8.28mm and weighs 163.5 grams. It features a 6.22-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) screen with 88.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. Vivo Y90 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.5.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Vivo Y90 is powered by quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 16GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot (up to 256GB). It packs a 4030mAh battery.

On the imagining front, the device sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/1.8 aperture. The camera features include Face Beauty, Professional, Palm Capture, Voice Control, Flash, Video, Time-Lapse, Slow, Time Watermark, Model Watermark, Face Beauty, Palm Capture, Voice Control, Selfie Lighting, Video and Time Watermark.

Interestingly, the cheapest smartphone in Vivo’s Y series also offers face unlock support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and FM Radio. The smartphone also features support for USB-OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB 2.0 port.

The price of Vivo Y90 has been set at Rs 6,990 and is offered in Black and Gold colour options.

Redmi 7

Redmi 7 features a 6.26" (15.9 cm) display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The device is 8.4 mm slim and weighs 180 grams. 

The Redmi 7 runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The smartphone packs a 4,000 mAh.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 eight-core processor with up to 1.8GHz and AdrenoTM 506 graphics processor with up to 725 MHz. 

It houses a 12 a primary 12MP camera with a f/2.2 Aperture lens and 1.25µm large pixel on the back. The phone also includes a secondary camera of 2MP for Portrait shots or background blur pictures. On the front, the Redmi 7 includes an 8-megapixel camera. The front camera features like AI portrait mode, portrait mode, AI smart beauty, front HDR, among others.

The Redmi 7 comes in three colours including -- Dream Blue, Charm Night Red, and Bright Black. Xiaomi Redmi 7 is currently available for Rs 8,999 in India.
