Redmi 8 with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant has gone on sale once again. It is to be noted that Redmi 8 was launched in India earlier this month and has since gone on sale a few times until now. The key features on Redmi 8 include a waterdrop-style display notch, dual rear camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery, among others.
Redmi 8: Price, Availability & Sale Offers
The price for Redmi 8 in India has been set at Rs 7,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant. On the other hand, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of Redmi 8 costs Rs 8,999. However, for the first five million units, the device with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is available with an introductory price of Rs 7,999.
The sale for Redmi 8 began at 12 PM (noon) and the phone is offered via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores. It is worth mentioning here that there is still no word on when the company plans to open sales via third-party offline retailers.Redmi 8 is available in Oynx Black, Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue colour options. It also has a splash-resistant P2i coating on top.
As far as the sale offers are concerned, Mi.com is offering 10 per cent instant discount on purchases made using HDFC Bank debit cards. Flipkart is offering 5 per cent cashback on paying with Flipkart Axis Bank credit card or Axis Bank Buzz credit card.
Redmi 8: Specifications
Redmi 8 sports a 6.22-inch HD+ Dot Notch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
On the imaging front, Redmi 8 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup that houses a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel camera sensor at the front. The dual rear camera setup is preloaded AI Portrait and AI Scene Detection features. The phone is also touted to recognise 33 scene categories, including six India-specific categories. Also, there is artificial intelligence (AI) powered features, including Face Unlock. Further, the phone has a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Redmi 8 has 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB) with a dedicated slot. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, infrared, wireless FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
