Redmi 8A, the successor of Redmi 7A, has been launched in India. The key features on the Xiaomi’s newly-launched smartphone include wireless FM radio, 5,000mAh battery, 6.22-inch HD+ display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, among others. In the Indian market, Redmi 8A will compete against Realme C2 and Samsung Galaxy M10.
Redmi 8A: Specifications, Features
Redmi 8A sports a 6.22-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and it runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with up to 3GB of RAM.
On the imaging front, Redmi 8A comes equipped with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor at the back along with an f/1.8 lens and an LED flash. It also has an 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front. It is worth mentioning here that the phone includes an AI Face Unlock feature. It further has a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Redmi 8A has 32GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB) through a dedicated slot. Connectivity options on Redmi 8A nclude 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device packs a massive 5,000mAh Li-Polymer battery with support for 18W fast charging technology.
Redmi 8A: Price & Launch Offers
The price for 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant of Redmi 8A in India has been set at Rs 6,499. On the other hand, the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option of Redmi 8A costs Rs 6,999. The phone comes in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue and Sunset Red.
Redmi 8A will go on sale in India via Flipkart and Mi.com starting September 29 at 11:59 pm. However, the device will be made available through Mi Home stores starting September 30. Moreover, customers would be able to avail discounts and offers under Flipkart's Big Billion Days sale.
