Redmi Go Receives Price Cut In India; Now Starts at Rs 4,299

Redmi Go was launched in India last year at Rs 4,499. Now, the budget smartphone has received a price cut. Yes, you read it right. It is to be noted that Redmi Go was initially launched in India in a single configuration that had 8GB of storage. However, the company later introduced the 16GB variant at Rs 4,799. The key features on the smartphone include HD display, 3,000mAh battery and a dedicated microSD card slot, among others.

Taking to Twitter, Redmi India officially announced a price cut for Redmi Go in India. The smartphone maker said, “Get the #AndroidGo experience on a budget like never before. Buy the #RedmiGo at an all-new price of ₹4,299. Get yours from http://mi.com, @Flipkart, @amazonIN and Retail Outlets.”

Redmi Go: Price

After the price cut, the 8GB storage option of Redmi Go in India costs Rs 4,299 (down from original price i.e. Rs 4,499). Whereas, the price of 16GB storage option of Redmi Go in India has been set at Rs 4,499 (down from original price i.e. Rs 4,799). The price cut is already reflecting on Amazon, Mi.com, and retail outlets.

Redmi Go: Specifications & Features

Redmi Go sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. The phone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition). It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, along with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 308 GPU.

On the imaging front, Redmi Go comes equipped with a single camera setup that houses an 8-megapixel rear sensor along with an f/2.0 lens and an LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 lens. It is worth mentioning here that there is an unlimited storage on Google Photos.

Redmi Go has 8GB and 16GB onboard storage options that both are expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB) through a dedicated slot. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device packs a 3,000mAh battery. Redmi Go measures 140.4x70.1x8.35mm and weighs 137 grams.
