Xiaomi had announced the Redmi Note 8 series phones including Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 three months back. Many of us would be aware of the fact that the Redmi Note 8 series phones have received tremendous customer demand globally. Recently, Xiaomi has announced that more than 10 million units of Redmi Note 8 series phones were sold. Yes, you read it right. In a post on Weibo, Xiaomi said that the company sold 110,000 units on average every day to achieve this feat.
It is to be noted that Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 were announced by Xiaomi at the end of August this year after which they were launched in India in October. Interestingly, Xiaomi achieved this feat 1 month faster this time compared to the amount of time sales of Redmi Note 7 series took to hit the 10 million units mark.
Xiaomi launched new colour variants for its Redmi Note 8 series phones last week in India. While the Redmi Note 8 Pro received a new Electric Blue variant, the Remi Note 8 is also being offered in Cosmic Purple colour now.
Redmi Note 8 Pro: Specifications & Price
Redmi Note 8 Pro sports a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, waterdrop-style notch and Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back. The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on MIUI 10, based on Android 9 Pie. The smartphone is powered by Helio G90T SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. The phone comes with liquid cooling support for the enhanced gaming experience. There are also features such as the Game Turbo 2.0 mode to please mobile gamers.
On the imaging front, Redmi Note 8 Pro sports four cameras the back. It is the first smartphone to have a 64-megapixel main camera. The primary sensor is joined by the 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and two 2-megapixel cameras. On the front, the smartphone houses 20-megapixel selfie camera. Connectivity options on the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, IR blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and a magnetometer. The smartphone also comes with an rear-facing fingerprint sensor.
Redmi Note 8 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery with support of 18W fast charging. The phone measures 161.7x76.4x8.81mm and weigh 200 grams. The price for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro in India has been set at Rs 14,999. While its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option costs Rs 15,999, the top-of-the-line 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model carries a price tag of Rs 17,999. Apart from Electric Blue colour, the smartphone is available in Gamma Green, Halo White, and Shadow Black colour options.

Redmi Note 8 features a 6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) display. It runs Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The smartphone is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor paired with up to 6GB of RAM. As far as the optics are concerned, Redmi Note 8 comes equipped with a 48-megapixel primary camera, assisted by an 8-megapixel wide-angle snapper, and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors for depth-sensing and capturing macro photos. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor at the back.
The phone packs 128GB of internal storage with scope for expansion up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. It has a 4,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The device measures 158.3x75.30x8.35mm and weigh 188 grams. Connectivity options include GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi Direct, and more. The smartphone also includes a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and IR blaster. In India, Redmi Note 8 price starts at Rs 9,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant while its high-end 6GB + 128GB version is priced at Rs 12,999. In addition to the new Cosmic Purple colour option, it also comes in Moonlight White, Neptune Blue, and Space Black variants.
