Redmi Note 8 series has finally gone official in China. Yes, you read it right. Xiaomi on Thursday unveiled the new Redmi Note 8 series lineup at an event in Beijing. Along with the two smartphones under Redmi Note 8 series i.e. Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro, first Redmi-branded TV as well as a refreshed version of the RedmiBook 14 were also launched.

Redmi Note 8 features a gradient design and it comes with powerful processor, four rear cameras, slimmer bezels, audio improvements, and more. On the other hand, Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a redesigned body with significant upgrades, 64-megapixel rear camera and many more.
Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro: Price & Sale date
The base 4GB + 64GB model of Redmi Note 8 costs CNY 999 (approx. Rs 10,000). The price of 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants of Redmi Note 8 has been set at CNY 1,199 (approx. Rs 12,000) and CNY 1,399 (approx. Rs 14,000), respectively. The 6GB of RAM and 64GB variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro costs CNY 1,399 (approx. Rs 14,000). The price of 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB models of Redmi Note 8 Pro has been set at CNY 1,599 (approx. Rs 16,000) and CNY 1,799 (approx. Rs 18,000), respectively.
While the sale for Redmi Note 8 will take place on September 17, Redmi Note 8 Pro to come in market on September 3. Redmi Note 8 will be available in three colours i.e. Dream Blue, Meteorite Black and White. Like the Redmi Note 7, the Black variant will be the only one without the gradient finish. Redmi Note 8 Pro will also be sold in three colours – Pearl White, Ice Emerald and Electric Light Grey.

Redmi Note 8 features a 6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone comes with Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back and houses a waterdrop-style notch up front. The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 8 runs on MIUI 10, based on Android 9 Pie. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, paired with up to 6GB of RAM.
As far as the optics on the phone are concerned, Redmi Note 8 sports four rear cameras including a 48-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter, and two 2-megapixel cameras. On the front, it houses a 13-megapixel selfie camera.
Redmi Note 8 packs a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Connectivity options it include USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and IR blaster.
On the other hand, Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, waterdrop-style notch and Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back. The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on MIUI 10, based on Android 9 Pie. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek's new gaming focussed Helio G90T SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. The phone comes with liquid cooling support for the enhanced gaming experience.
On the imagining front, Redmi Note 8 Pro sports four cameras the back. It is the first smartphone to have 64-megapixel main camera. The primary sensor is joined by the same camera setup as the Redmi Note 8 – 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and two 2-megapixel cameras. On the front, it houses 20-megapixel selfie camera.
Redmi Note 8 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Connectivity options it include NFC, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, IR blaster.
