Reliance Jio added massive 8.56 million subscribers to its base in the month of December, making it a total of 280 million while its rivals Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel lost a huge number of customers. Market leader Vodafone Idea lost almost 2.33 million and Bharti Airtel faced loss of 1.5 million, as pr the latest data rolled out by the telecom regulator.
As per the latest data by TRAI, Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio has widened its customer share to 23.82 per cent from 23.17 per cent while Vodafone Idea and Airtel lost its customer share from 35.94 per cent to 35.61 per cent.
Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) is, however, still at number one and retains its position of being India’s biggest telecom operator with 418.74 million customers while Airtel dropped to nearly 340.26 million subscribers.
State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) added 5,52,855 customers which is marginally more than the previous month.
Visitor Location Register, a key metric reflecting the number of active users on a mobile network, indicated that 93.33% of the subscribers were active for VIL, 98.68% for Bharti Airtel and 83.59% for Jio.

Now, the company has revised its Rs 199 plan and will offer 500 MB more than the previous offering. It will now provide 1.5GB 4G data per day, making it a total of 42GB for 28 days. The rest of the benefits remain the same which includes voice calling and per day SMS limit.
