Reliance Jio tops TRAI's 4G download speed chart in October

According to the data, Reliance Jio topped the chart by registering an average speed of 19.6 mbps in October. Securing the second position on the list is Idea Cellular with an upload speed of 6.5 mbps during the month.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released a data on Friday which depicted the average download speed in mobile broadband.

According to the data, Reliance Jio topped the chart by registering an average speed of 19.6 mbps in October. Securing the second position on the list is Idea Cellular with an upload speed of 6.5 mbps during the month.

Upload speed matters the most when a user wants to share data through social media or emails, while the download speed is required to access photos, videos or any other information on internet.

Jio’s 4G download speed network was double to that of Vodafone, a close competitor of the tele company, which registered a download speed of 9.3 mbps in October.

The marginal speed of download of Jio fell down by 2.3 mbps when compared with the month of September. The company registered 21.9 mbps in September.

The network of Bharti Airtel registered 8.7 mbps while Idea Cellular registered 8.6 mbps download speed.

In terms of upload speed, Vodafone followed Idea Cellular, recording 5.9 mbps, continued by Jio registering 4.3 mbps and then Airtel, which registered with 4 mbps.

The TRAI collects and computes data download speed with the help of its application, MySpeed, on a immediate basis.
